China’s poshest cruise finally sets sail
Yesterday marked the maiden voyage of Abercrombie & Kent’s MS Yangtze Explorer, the only internationally managed, five-star cruise ship on Asia’s longest river. The boat provides 124 guests with deluxe amenities, like an in-house spa, cigar bar and beauty salon. Each of the ship’s 62 cabins features a private balcony for panoramic views of China’s Three Gorges (as well as the eponymous dam, which may be the world’s most controversial river project). On-board activities include Tai Chi and Chinese brush painting, with frequent shore excursions for a taste of the local culture. Trips last either four or five days with 64 departures remaining this year. Take a look at our original coverage of the long-awaited Explorer here.
