Cooper Square arrives fashionably late
After months of protests, developer in-fighting and serial delays, the Cooper Square Hotel opens today in New York City’s East Village. The 21-story glass tower, designed by Carlos Zapata, has 145 rooms, a Table 8 restaurant and a ground-level library with fireplace. Cooper Square joins a recent boom in hip, design-oriented hotels popping up in lower Manhattan.
