Feted for affordable prices and comfy-casual chic, London-Soho restaurant Arbutus defied the odds when it scored a Michelin star in January. Now chef Anthony Demetre and co-owner Will Smith (no, not that Will Smith) are rolling the dice on a second location with similar style and taste in Mayfair. But is this well-heeled enclave ready for naked tables and wine by the carafe? We’ll find out when Wild Honey debuts later this month in the oak-paneled digs of the former members-only Drones Club on St. George Street. Before Arbutus opened a year ago, its pedigree of inexpensive dining had been virtually inconceivable in the world’s second priciest city. If Wild Honey replicates the standard of the Frith Street flagship, it will be serving such seasonal, inventive bistro fare as braised pig’s head and mackerel & squid hamburgers — for under £10. Oh, and yes, you’ll be needing reservations.
