New Turks & Caicos resort gives Gansevoort a run for its money
Since it opened last year, Gansevoort has become the place to see and be seen in Turks & Caicos. But if you’re looking for an alternative to the scene, there’s the just-open Veranda Resort, also on Providenciales. A sister property to the Grace Bay Club, the new resort is set on 11 acres and 800 feet of beachfront along Grace Bay. Among its 168 rooms are eight beachfront cottages with private plunge pools and butler service. The decor is Nantucket meets Key West.
Veranda is a veritable cocktail of cultural influences: there’s the main restaurant, Marin, offering a Caribbean-inspired menu; the Asian-inflected Sabai Spa; and an Indian tandoori oven at Grill Bleu (the only one in the Turks & Caicos, if that sort of thing gets you excited).
