Prat Pack Goes to Vegas

The Princesses of Pop join forces on the Strip.

We knew Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera grew up fast, but apparently faster than we thought — at the ripe old ages of 25 and 26 respectively, they’re debuting Vegas acts. Tomorrow, Britney hosts the grand opening of LAX, a new $20 million club at the Luxor, co-owned by rival Christina and DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein or Nicole Richie’s ex. Far from being airport-themed like its Hollywood sister, the décor will be red leather with crystal chandeliers and oversized mirrors. In keeping with the airline industry, however, the club will divide guests into classes: masses on the ground floor, VIPs in surrounding booths, and “Ultra-VIPs” in lofts suspended over the dance floor.

LAX is just part of MGM Mirage’s $300 million renovation of the Luxor which will axe the Egyptian theme and the kid-friendly arcades in hopes of luring the young and “sophisticated” crowd. Also in the works are a restaurant named Company (owned in part by Nick Lachey and Nicky Hilton) and a Cirque du Soleil show featuring illusionist Criss Angel (linked to Prat Packers Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and most recently Britney Spears herself). With friends like these, the Luxor might as well throw out its rotating performance acts — clearly they’ll be producing their drama in-house.
