Ritz-Carlton takes to the slopes in Lake Tahoe
While Waldorf Astoria and Starwood compete for slope supremacy in Park City, Ritz-Carlton has gone north to Lake Tahoe. The brand’s newest property, Ritz-Carlton Highlands, opens this week offering 170 guest rooms with fireplaces and an army of de rigueur ski valets to assist guests skiing into (and out of) the resort. A gondola also connects the resort and the Village at Northstar’s ski trails.
After hitting the slopes, thaw near the fire pit in The Living Room with light appetizers, or tuck into braised pork belly and homemade gnocchi at the main restaurant Manzanita. The resort’s 17,000-square-foot spa also offers hot chocolate by the fire before your “Bear Paw” spa package or — wait for it — “Horseless Indian Foot Massage.”
