Spend the night “culture camping” at a Copenhagen museum
First the Guggenheim did it. Now Copenhagen’s contemporary art museum Kunsthal Charlottenborg is taking it to another level: For the price of admission, visitors can stay overnight in the museum as part of its “Works at Work” exhibition. Every Friday through August 31, eight guests will shack up together as part of a social experiment the Danes are calling “Culture Camping.”
You and your new friends will be able to wander the musuem throughout the night, interacting with other pieces in the “Works at Work” exhibit — think: playing in a sandbox, building an art installation from wood, and “flying” in a hot air balloon. Add to this a few “nocturnal surprises” (we thought it sounded creepy too, and then we found out it meant bedtime stories and lullabies — which is still pretty weird.)
Don’t forget this is an experiment, though. Be prepared to discuss your experience at a roundtable breakfast the next morning.
