Summer Is…
A sweet treat can be as imaginative as you dare to be.
Custom-made chocolate-covered potato-chip ice cream. Or strawberry-rhubarb. Or avocado and basil. Whatever your fantasy flavor, the Fairmont Chicago will whip it up and deliver it straight to your suite. Starting June 1, guests are welcome to design and devour their own pint of ice cream for $12 per carton. Here’s how it works: forty-eight hours before your arrival in the Windy City, you’ll receive a phone consultation with Noah Bekofsky, executive chef of the Fairmont’s Aria Restaurant & Bar.
He recommends you keep it simple with no more than five ingredients; but within that parameter don’t be shy. From truffles to cream corn, ginger to Nutella, the sky’s the limit with one exception: foie gras is banned in Chicago. And don’t despair if you find yourself with brain freeze during the invention session. Chef Bekofsky told globorati he’ll coax a flavor out of you with questions ranging from your favorite foods to your favorite pastimes. Ultimately, he says, your ice cream will be a reflection of your own personality.
