Watch out Ducasse, Robuchon and Savoy — a new French chef is in town
Mandarin Oriental opens its first ever LEED-certified hotel this week in perhaps the unlikeliest of destinations: Las Vegas. Sans casino, the 47-floor Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas is set right on the Strip with 392 rooms offering floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning city vistas. A two-level spa offers 17 treatment rooms and 1930’s Shanghai-inspired decor.
Meanwhile Michelin-starred, experimental chef Pierre Gagnaire makes his American debut at the hotel’s signature restaurant Twist (though he’s a Mandarin Oriental veteran, with a namesake eatery Pierre at their Hong Kong property). Other dining options at the Vegas hotel include a tea lounge and Mandarin Bar.
