Which new restaurant has given London more Michelin stars than ever before?
The Lanesborough Hotel, one of London’s most prestigious and storied properties, has entered the Michelin history books. Within just five months of opening, the restaurant at the Lanesborough, Apsleys, a Heinz Beck Restaurant, has snagged its first Michelin star and set the record for the fastest London restaurant to earn the distinction.
It is the first Michelin star for the restaurant’s eponymous chef — in London, that is. Beck already has three stars under his belt from his work at La Pergola, the fine dining institution at the Rome Cavalieri (now part of the Waldorf-Astoria brand). At Apsleys, Beck serves Italian fare, including rabbit ravioli with pistachio and white-truffle risotto with salmon carpaccio.
Beck’s newest star has broken more than one record, too: London now has more Michelin stars than it’s ever had before.
