Which Paris newcomer is steeped in history?
Several incarnations of the storied Majestic hotel in Paris have appeared since its opening in 1907. But the latest may fit the name best. The reconstructed and re-envisioned Villa & Hôtel Majestic just opened in the swanky 16th arrondissement. Run by the same family behind the sophisticated Hotel Raphael, the Majestic is a stone’s throw from the Arc de Triomphe.
The Majestic now offers 25 guest rooms and 27 longer-stay “villas,” each with a unique design that includes a mix of period antiques and contemporary artwork. Many rooms even have landscaped terraces. A blend of modern and traditional also composes the Maj Club, the hotel’s wellness center, with a hammam and an infrared sauna. Treatments are based on Chinese medicine — though acupuncture is performed here with gold needles.
